[linux-audio-dev] Noise reduction with FFT

2005-01-06 Thread Spencer Russell
I've got this really noisy audio file I'm trying to clean up, and I was thinking, it would be really cool if I could run a clip of the file that was just the noise(it's a recording of a discussion for a TV broadcast, so when no one's talking, it should be silent) and have the program output an aver

[linux-audio-dev] 2.6.10-rc2-mm3 Hang

2004-12-29 Thread Spencer Russell
It would seem that perhaps my hangup problems in 2.6 aren't necessarily related to my US428. I got the 2.6.10-rc2 sources, and applied the mm3, rt2(Realtime LSM), Ingo's realtime-preempt, and usx2y 0.8.7.1 patches. The kernel patched and compiled fine, but it hangs after several minutes of normal w

2004-12-23 Thread Spencer Russell
Sorry to cross-post, but i didn't get any response on LAU, and was hoping maybe there're some developers that might have a better idea of what's going on. A while ago I was having trouble with my US428 hanging my system, usually directly after I tried to start JACK. Then lots of school-type stuff

I got the latest alsa-drivers from CVS, compiled and installed them, and it's still freezing up. I can have the modules loaded for as long as I like, but it's when I start jack that it seems to have problems. Most recently, I started qjackctl, it worked until I started Ardour, at which point qjackc

[linux-audio-dev] Tascam US428 Hangup

2004-11-12 Thread Spencer Russell
Hullo, there, I've got a Tascam us428 audio/midi interface/control surface, and I've had a heck of a time trying to get it working. It seems to work alright if I use the device directly with xmms, but when I try to start jack, my system hangs. Sometimes it waits a while before hanging, sometimes it
