Is there some way to figure out which file(s) are affected, and if
they are stuff I don't care about, is there some way to force btrfs to
"lose" the 1gb it can't copy off of the failing hdd?
Thanks,

I'm running the 4.0.4 kernel with btrfs-progs 4.0.1.
I've got a coredump, btrfs-image output, and the output from running
btrfs check and btrfs check --repair at http://pefoley.com/btrfs/
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
