the protocol is very simple.
How to integrate it with the kernel s/w demux would be an interesting
debate.
Let me know if I can help.
Steve,
what happened to this?

Actually only the CI interface needs to be reinitialised as all the tuner
stuff gets reinitialised at the next tuning-process anyway.
So this patch should be ready

I'm using an Irdeto 2 CAM. Have installed the same v4l-dvb drivers on 2

Well done roger, nice work. Let us know when you have a patch.

I dont if this is at all relevent. But you might want to see the difference
between UK and AU by setting countryreg.exe (in the DVICO folder), setting it
to UK and taking a log.
Of course you wont be able to tune under windows.
But something might show up.

Should parse the logs properly now, and non digit bulk packet indexes.
Dont know much perl or if theres a better
regexp solution. But seems to be fairly solid with what comes out of

hi,
I have this running on windows and noticed a few things.
its buggy as hell software but theres an interesting app called countryreg.exe
you'll find it with the dvico software. Ive suspected theres some kind of
region setting going on here, on installation theres a dialog that comes up
people in .au who have this device please post to this thread to

Hi,
Sorry for creating a new thread - ive just joined the list and been following
the archives for a while.
I purchased this card today, d/l'd the master repository and applied the
patch, card seems to be recognized properly. Using version 3 of the firmware.
Yep it cant seem to tune.
AFAIK Theres alot of people with working dvico cards (zl10353) in .au
Chris Pascoe has been working on this chip aswell i wonder what his progress
is? Should i try out his test tree?
Maybe dvico can help out with this too.

(For archives, I'll mention a workaround that has worked for most users
with DECT phones: set the switch frequency the tuner LNB settings from

Does anyone have a reliable way to read the mac address from the dvb card

able to find it in /proc, but have only found it in /var/log/messages, where
it is written by insmod.
