I think this is a Diseqc or a 22 kHz problem from the 0.9 dvb driver.
(s also Gernot A. Weber).
my investigations:

Last running system:
dvb-driver 0.8.2 vdr 0.72 Linux 2.2.14 from SUSE 6.4
running without any problems.(Astra and Eutelsat)

after make insmod
(C) 2000 Convergence integrated media andn-tvappears.
(This works since i changed the multiswitch to toogle with 22 kHz
between
lowband and highband (old fashion). The driver 0.8.2 works with
switching 22 kHz
between Astra and Eutelsat.)

Thank you very much for your tip!
I disconnected the Astra highband vertical cable from my Technisat
Quadroswitch and connected it direct with the cable to the siemens DVB-S
card. After loading the dvb driver 0.9 n-tv appears!
In your case, you have only trouble with vdr or also
