Is sendmail using debconf or what kind of confirmations are these? I think I've
never used sendmail on Debian ...

Please send a detailed bug report to the BTS (bugs.debian.org). I will
not work on such a short bug report. If you need quick help for minor
problems, come to #fai

Yep, I'm using FAI and sendmail on sarge systems withou any hassle.

Hi,
is anybody using sendmail on FAI clients? Especially how do you deal with
sendmailconfig confirmations.
cheers,
juraj
Hello,
Saving logs via ssh(scp) doesn`t work in beta.
I copied the savelog.LAST.source from the examples. It doesn`t print any
error, but the logs aren`t transfered to to server.
thanks,

Should we do it like that/at this place? Shouldn't we just provide a
hook in the simple examples?

I hope you will test this patch and send me feedback.

Not easy done if you want to install ETCH since beta got into testing and
really not future-prone as next update is planned when etch becomes stable.

Config space, so it's your /srv/fai/config tree.

CS used in config space (often defined by *.var)
as

Juraj, please don't do fullquotes at the bottom of mails, that's not
good to read, only quote the parts necessary, and add your comments
below, or in between.

Well,
what I did was using FAI 2.10.5 just 2 days ago to install ETCH -> no
problems, no additional fix or hook, the fix is alredy in apt.conf.d
then I moved to beta, as it got into testing(etch) (too soon in my opinion)
and from this point on, I`m experiencing problems
now if I look at /tmp/ta

LOGSERVER has been moved to CS. The wiki says the the default value ist
$SERVER, but the variable is empty!
That means that I have to put LOGSERVER=xyz into some .

In FAI 3 variables have been renamed. Have a look at
http://faiwiki.informatik.uni-koeln.de/index.php/Variables
and
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/fai/trunk/debi
have these been completly removed or just renamed?
I`m using them in my hook to gather the macaddr for wake-on-lan purposes, when
I want to fire up automatic reinstall on all clients (desktops, they are
turned of at night).
