Hey Thomas,
Can I get a wiki account? I'd like to start getting FAI ready to build
vservers and would be good to start scratching the details down on the
site. Perhaps somebody has some interesting ideas about how to
represent the "this FAI host is a container for these N FAI vserv

hi,
I know that this sound really a stupid question. But since now, I've only
used fai to do a "from scratch install" and never a softupdate. In the
documentation
and in the mailing list archive people talk about :
/usr/sbin/fai softupdate

Hm, perhaps as a workaround right before the lvm startup script you
simply add another script (with FAI) containing the vgchange line
mentioned above?

Hello everyone!
I need some help regarding LVM, I know this is probably not the
apropriate forum for this, but I have installed some computers with FAI
and I am testing Logical Volumes.
After the installation I end up not being able to mount lv's during
startup. I install the stock 2.6.8-

In principle it is possible. I have a running Kubuntu (Ubuntu with
a single KDE meta-package added which overrides GNOME) environment
installed from a FAI Debian install server (which at least at that
time was the most simple way to do it). But this is quite old (Kubuntu

how much difference (looking from FAI view) does it make to install
Ubuntu or Kubuntu using FAI. My sixth sense says, that that shouldn`t be
a big problem, but I can be wrong...
The next thing I need more informatio

Hi Juraj,
Same situation for me. Please let us know if you find a solution.

I know some people do run FAI with Ubuntu, but I had a heck of a time
trying that my self. I've yet to find any documentation that is
helpfully or successful in getting FAI to work with any Ubuntu.

Hello,
I`m responsible for a Call-Centre in Vienna using Linux on their
machines. We installed Debian Sarge and are happy with FAI, less with
package versions (KDE,Evolution) in Sarge.
I just had the idea of using FAI to install Kubuntu because Sarge gets
in its ages and testing/unstable isn`t
