ong as I have a
writeable nfs-mount. Otherwise the system hangs on booting. Using more
than ONE client isn't possible this way. I'll have to separate /etc and
/var. something like overlayfs, like fai is using, would be the
solution, perhaps.
Any other suggestions/hints?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for any input... If I didn't find the solution I have to boot 140

But rerunning update-grub doesn’t help, so I tried to re-run grub-install
without success.
So two problems:
- how can I get fai to automatically detect the existing raid?
- how can I get grub-efi to find the grub.cfg after running update-grub later
Thanks for any hints

Hello Bill,
Is your system to be installed EFI or BIOS boot?
Grub-pc is normally bios boot oriented.
I added a switch myself by checking if a call to „efibootmgr“ (has to be
installed beforehand) is successful or not to decide if grub-pc or grub-efi
will be installed
Have fun

Hi Merlin,
You have to start the PC using UEFI boot via PXE (instead of legacy) - than
grub-install installs the efi-based grub when called by FAI.
Cheers

Yes, it‘s easy.
Just remove /var/run/fai/INSTALL_IN_PROGRESS
and umount the configspace
If you then call
/etc/init.d/rcS
FAI tries again to mount the configspace and runs the install

Hi Thomas,
shouldn't grub be installed in the mbr of the used harddrives (e.g. /dev/sda
and /dev/sdb) of the lvm, if / is on lvm-volumes?
IMHO the grub.cfg etc should be in /boot/grub (so no problem while /boot has
its own partition - /boot inside the lvm-Volume might be inaccessable for grub)
with/among VBox guests among each other?

Yes, ist can...
For example (using label as fstabkey should be possible):

> primary swap 20GB sw
Did you consider the "nofail" Option for your /etc/fstab entries which might
fail/shouldn't fail?

Hello Nicolas,
It looks very similar to my first steps using FAI:
So you tried already adding :vers=3 to your cmdline after the

Is the nfs-server the same as the tftp?

Hello,
is there a way, to set up an fai-config-server with nfsroot on an

Thanks for any input...

Hello,
Anyone out there having experience with integrating FAI within OPSI
(www.opsi.org)? Any suggestions for that?
I already have a running opsi-environment but want to get Dual-Boot Systems.
So FAI shouldn't touch the Windows boot partition only shrink the 2nd partition
