I would like to use one disk_config file for either a normal raid1
configuration (should the system has two disks) or for degraded raid1 if it
only has one disk. Is that possible?

that's not what I ment: I want one file for two cases: with 2 disks and raid1
and with 1 disk and raid1. So it should handle
