A very hi end and expensive machine is the IBM ThinkPad 600E.
At my company we install Debian 2.1 and RedHat 6.1 on two of this
machines.

Hello,
I use an old OEM SONY SCSI 926 CD-WRITER (x6 read x2 write).
It work fine under Linux with cdrecord. I also used it to duplicate
RedHat CDs by reading from my CD-ROM device directly into the
CD-WRITER.
