I use automount with the following entries in the configuration file:
dvd -fstype=iso9660,ro,nosuid,nodev :/dev/hdc
cd -fstype=iso9660,ro,nosuid,nodev :/dev/hdd
diskOnKey
-fstype=vfat,rw,gid=chaim,umask=002,iocharset=iso8859-8,codepage=862
:/dev/sdb1
usbDisk1
