Problems while logging in to Debian unstable

I have tried to logged in to my Debian unstable machine using regular user from gdm and got a message "System bootup in progress" after clicking Ok I returned to the login screen. I tried logging in without X (Ctrl-Alt-F1) when logging in as root, got the same message and password prompt and logg

The solution is simple - Your gdm is probabaly loads in the middle of the boot process. You're getting this message sine the boot wasn't finished. You can change gdm's script number in /etc/rc2.d/ so it will load later in the process. My GDM has 20. Ori Idan wrote: > I have tried to logged in to
