What I'm trying to do is to get a flash BIOS upgrade for a HP computer for
which I don't know the model number. I looked right away at lspci -v
which told me it's using a Intel i815 chipset, but that didn't seem to be
enough to find the right upgrade, so I assumed that I needed more
info. The DOS
appear on the screen
in boot (you can pause to see it).

Are you talking about the chipset?
If so, you can either do "lspci -v" (lspcidrake if you are using Mandrake),
or "cat /pro
