In my debian potato machine I use rtl8139.o module for realtek chipsets.
Pls check with your vendor about the chipset.
For loading the module at boot do this (refer www.kumarayil.net/howtos.htm)
edit /etc/modules.conf and add

using Potato?
Ajay I have configured sound on a i845 mother board. I used the i810 module
Both Alsa and 2.4.x kernel have support for i810 AFAIK. So in your case also
it should work.

Can any body guide me to configure samba as PDC. I am using win98 as client
I could successfully add a SAMBA m/c to an existing NT domain. But I am not
able to configure it as a PDC. Win98 m/c says domain not found. Machines are

but I could find one thing that the script S99xdm in
/etc/rc4.d is responsible for it.
edit /etc/inittab and set your run level to 2. to remove
xdm from the startup do

I have configured squid on a machine which is having a dial-up connection.
All the clients are running win98. How can I make the proxy server dials
(using wvdial) when a user demands. I have heard of diald. Pls guide me.
