hi,

I am in some serious trouble, thought I didn't mess much. I am using
ColdFusion 4.5 on Linux with Apache 1.3 and database as MySQL 3.23.43.

However to my distress, first when I wanted my CF to connect to MySQL I had
no inkling as to how to connect using ODBC, bcoz like windows there is no
direct ODBC interface to create a DSN. However I downloaded sources of
MyODBC module from mysql.com and unixODBC from unixODBC.org, compiled and
installed.

I got the ODBC GUI with unixodbc and KPackage confirmed as MyODBC being
installed. However

1. I am still not able to list the available databases of mysql in the ODBC
panel
2. after editing the /opt/coldfusion/odbc/odbc.ini file with the manual
entry of a datasource specifying the driver to use MyODBC, I my Cold Fusion
files are unable to connect to the database.

Now what should I do to exactly get the list of available MySQL databases or
be able to specify the myODBC dsn

Any pointers.

Regards

Amit Bhargava
