The Type Cover detachable keyboard for the Surface 3 contains a multi-
touch touchpad (up to 3 finger gestures). However, this doesn't seem to
be working.
Attached is the output of hid-recorder doing a 2-finger scroll, and

mode. This could be used by desktop environments to change the keyboard
mode depending on the application focused, as the Windows application
