as i've said before - i have the same problem too
the memory is OK! - have run memtest86 for hours ... - no errors ... -
heatsink - CPU@45°C - Case @ 25°C
after changing the kernel compile to PentiumII (nearly) everything worked
fine
2.4.6pre5 works as PentiumII but not as Athlon
2.4.5ac16
I have a Athlon-1333/266 FSB , MSI K7T Turbo Motherboard and 512 MB Memory
PC133, 3x Promise Ultra 100, 1 IBM Harddrive as systemdisk, 5 Maxtor
80GB(@promise), 1 Geforce MX graphicscard (no nvidia driver), 1 AHA-2940UW
(nothing attatched)
Base distribution: SuSE 7.1 with all updates applied.
Here
on
them (maybe another OS formatted them) occupy space including the last
sector - no place left on these partitions to baptize them. - how should
that work with existing fs'es???

I compiled linux-2.4.0-test12 without any problems:
it does:
Lilo:
loading v240t12 .
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
then it is in an endless loop i think because vmware uses all cpu-power.
First I start in Grub, from there i start Lilo and then the kernel. - maybe
there's
m i wrong about that?
