Hi,
I'm trying to build a kernel for Cyrix MediaGX. Kernel version is 2.4.6-pre3
as it comes straight from the XFS devel tree.
Processor type is set to 586/K5/5x86/6x86/6x86MX. Everything compiles fine.
Here comes my problem : the darn thing won't boot. I've seen at least 3
different behaviours
Hi,
I posted a message 2 weeks ago regarding this bug, though I can't trigger the
kernel panic every time (see original post). My CPU is a MediaGX, and
Manfred's one is a 6x86MX. What about yours ?
After my first unsuccessful attempt with a 2.4.6-pre3, I tried several other
2.4.6-preX and 2.4.5-a
And the winner is... Andrea. Kudos to you, I've just applied these patches,
recompiled and it seems to work fine.
Too bad, this was the perfect excuse for getting rid of those good old Cyrix
boxen ;)
Thanks,
Thibaut
