accessing my XP printer from Linux?

I have my printer connected to my Windows XP machine so everyone in the house can use it. But I can't access it from my Linux computer (Red Hat 8.0). I tried Samba but it only lets me share a local printer with others on the network. I use a Cable modem 4 port router to network and share access

Howdy, Y'all: I'm monitoring my /var/log/messages file and I'd like to have the PC's speaker beep when there is a new entry. I am monitoring 'DENY'ed packets. I am now using 'cut' and 'grep' and 'tail' to show the last 11 denied packets. How can I cause the PC speaker to beep when the last 11
