mapping the "meta" key in terminals

Hello, I am able to use the meta-key bindings in bash (for command line editing etc.) from an xterm while physically being at a machine (m1.umich.edu), but these meta-key translations do not seem to work if I ssh into m1.umich.edu from m2.umich.edu. However, the CTRL key bindings seem to work fine

Hi Rekha, When i said use -l /usr/src/linux/include it does not mean u have to type "exactly" that, the name of the folder will be different. Use that name. Besides the arrow thing you are talking about is actually a soft link (asuming you saw it in ls listing). Bye On 7/30/05, r
