I want to enable syntax highlighting in my vim sessions, especially for perl.
after reading several faqs I edited a perl file and then did :syntax on to which vim replied: sorry, this command is not implemented How can I tell if the syntax checking was disabled at compile time? Or if this message telling me something else?
