Hello,
I'm busy 'configuring' my linux (debian) as I like it... Since I'm new,
I just installed quite a lot of packages, which I possibly don't need
anymore. One of these might be mozilla for reading my email, because I
like to use emacs for this -- I really love Emacs, it's great. But now,
my problems:
1. My biggest concern are attachments. Now, rmail (Emacs) reads my mail
from my standard mozilla-inbox. ("~/.mozilla/default/86???/Mail/Inbox").
But I can't read or save attachments in these mails (if I use rmail),
since these attachments are just put as 'plain text' in the emails (and
not saved as a file or whatever). How can I solve this?
2. If I stop using mozilla-mail (I do this once the previous problem is
solved...), how do I have to make rmail work? rmail is just copying the
mailbox, so there must be a program for checking (and downloading) the
mail, such as fetchmail, right? Can I set-up fetchmail for IMAP-servers
or are there (better?) alternatives? And would it be a 'good' idea to
try this first still using mozilla or should try it directly with rmail?
thanks in advance,
Kurt
