Some gcc toolchain are optimizing out the memcpy and this causes dax-errors
to not trigger the SIG_BUS when doing memcpy on an mmap'd buffer. By moving
the buffer to a global variable this bypasses the optimization and allow
the test to work as intended.

We call is_namespace_active() to check that the namespace is not active
before we clobber it, but we were failing to check if we have a
namespace at all. Without this check we segfault when attempting to
create a namespace on a disabled region.
