I don't have any rpms installed with "ipmi" or "IPMI" in the name, and no ipmi
service defined. It's just strange because I can't reproduce the need for this
dependency, so I'm not surprised Dell hasn't defined it, yet it's clearly
causing issues for folks...

Hi,
I manage 34 R410s and 32 PE1950s. All run CentOS 5.4 and are deployed
with cobbler and managed with puppet, ie. they're all configured
identically.
I mirror the Dell repos with cobbler and deploy the appropriate yum repo
config files with puppet.
On the PE1950s, update_firmware runs just fin
there are other software packages that implement IPMI (freeipmi?)

There's something funny about this--none of my 1950/2950/610/710 hardware has
OpenIPMI installed, yet omreport is working everywhere.

Anyone know of a way to clear the event log of an R710 using OMSA? I know
that it can be done with ipmitool, but I'm looking for a solution using
omconfig (and not via the web interface). The documentation appears silent
on this point. TIA,

The online configuration is not designed to help you but to help
Dell, and learning how to fight it and the Dell web site and
circumvent both is a vital skill for a customer (and for a Dell
account manager too :->).

Fabio,
Most of the voltage sensors are discrete and only report a good/bad indication
without an actual reading. That is why the thresholds are marked as N/A. You
should look at the system event log (SEL) and verify that there is an error
reported there as well. Most times a voltage completel
Hi list,
I have a problem here but I'm not really sure what it means, maybe you
can give me a little help.
OMSA is reporting a problem, but with no much details, look:
# omreport chassis volts index=7
Voltage Probes Information
Health : Critical
Index : 7
Status
One thing I particularly like about this list is that there are Dell
employee's on the list such as the server tech support guys who have
worked in the industry and thusly know their stuff. Funny that none
have chimed in on this thread? ;)
