The kernel changes to support up to 27 drives are fairly straightforward.

RedHat 7.0 does not include the driver for the Promise Ultra66 (at least
the last version that I installed doesn't include it). You need Andre
Hedrick's IDE patches (e.g., drivers/block/pdc202xx.c).
