Geeze! I created those files so long ago I never even thought to look
at them. Now I noticed that both /dev/sdi[1-8] & /dev/sdj[1-8] (as well
as everything up to /dev/sdn* have the SAME MINOR numbers. (128).
Found the problem in MAKEDEV and re-genned those files. AMAZING how good
things work

I just managed to install raidtools v0.90 & the raid0145 1005-C patch
for 2.0.35 without any problems. Now I'm trying to re-create an array
(raid 5) as I aquired more disks.
I do a raidstop /dev/md0 - no problem
I change the /etc/raidtab to list all the disks - no problem.
Now I do a mkraid --
At http://home.talkcity.com/HardDiskDr/yewnix/
you can find a Redhat 5.1 boot.img with the Ami Megaraid driver
as well as a boot disk for after the install + a fully compiled kernel
with the the AMi Megaraid and AIC7xxx drivers(latest).
I used all of these to get a Dell Poweredge 4200 up and ru

I asked the following question in a previous post, but it was tucked away in the
middle of a long message and didn't get noticed, so I thought I would ask again?
Quite a few people who want to do root-RAID are installing first of all to a
temporary disk, copying the filesystems across to the RAID

search for raidtools-19981005-B-0.90.tar.gz on any FTP search system (eg.
http://ftpsearch.ntnu.no), it turns up lots of alternate sites.
