Does anyone know how far ext3 is off? Also I heard SGI had
released thiercode for journaling? Is this to be adopted into
ext3?CheersRob
I had seen this same problem in a prior version and had emailed the
following comment to the list with no reply:

With linux 2.0.36 and patch raid0145-19990421-2.0.36 applied, if a disk is

yes - you cannot do it the other way around, yet. I'll fix RAID0 and

Hi everyone--
I have been on this list for a little while now, and I am wondering
what the concensus is on what is the most robust/stable setup for RAID under
RedHat 6.0/Kernel 2.2.5 (or a later kernel if it means better
performance/stability).
I am getting ready to set up a serv
On 2.0.37+raid990713 (recent), when I stop my raid1 device (using raidstop),
it refuses to 'raidstart' (I have to reboot to get /dev/md0 active again).
Is it a bug or a feature? :)
Here it is:

it works just fine:
[root@moon /root]# cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [linear] [raid0] [raid1] [raid5]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md2
New RAID-1 System with SuSe 6.1/kernel 2.2.10, 1 ide-hd as boot device,

I could be off my rocker, but I believe the answer your looking for is the fact
that Lilo cannot correctly use a raid for booting. Typically I would imagine
you
would settup / as the mirror, and perhaps make a /boot that's it's own non-raid
partition for kernel images and such, thusly lilo would
Hello Everyone,
First I'd like to apologize if this question has been asked before, however,
I am trying to determine the specific reason why mirroring of the root (/)
partition can not be done with software (i.e. host based) mirroring. I've
read (In an FAQ) that it has something to do with wha

the 'hard limit' for per-array disks is 12. Work is underway to raise this
limit. (the new code boots and works, but some migration issues
Hello,
Thx for all your help. All works fine. I had to rebuild kernel
and reboot with the new one.

Thats not quite correct. The maximum filesize
