My problem is the MVP3 chipset is not seen by linux even with this patch as ATA-66 compatible. My ATA-33 drive shows better transfer rates with tiobench than the ATA-66... hdparm won't allow me to set ATA-66 either... Tells me UDMA modes 3/4 are not available. In the Dmesg it identifies the

raid5 checksumming chooses wrong function

So, I upgraded the firmware on the card from 4.16 to I think 4.23??? and then I opted to install in the text mode. If I hade more time I would verify which enabled the install to work. However, it went on just fine. One note though, every time the fs is formatted, the block size is set to 4096.
