I've look at the files in: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/daemons/raid/alpha/raidtools-19981005-B-0.90.tar.bz2 and didn't find mdadd, mdcreate, mdstop, or mdrun, I did find them in: ftp://sweet-smoke.ufr-info-p7.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/md035.tar.gz but had to hack it up a bit to compile on linux-2.1.125. ...here's the questions ;-) 1. I've created a raid-0 set with md035 tools that appears to work... is this safe? 2. Is there a way to do this using the raidtools? When ever I try it says: # raidstart /dev/md0 /dev/md0: Invalid argument or # mkraid /dev/md0 handling MD device /dev/md0 analyzing super-block disk 0: /dev/loop1, 1024kB, raid superblock at 960kB disk 1: /dev/loop2, 1024kB, raid superblock at 960kB mkraid: aborted This is with the example configuration called raid0.conf.sample using /dev/loop1 and /dev/loop2 in place of the real disks. I've just subscribed to this list...but have looked around and couldn't find a FAQ to answer these tidbits. I apologize in advance if this is asked every two days.
