As far as I know there are no newer patches, I've used the 2.2.11 patches
with 2.2.13 successfully, ignore the rejects.

partitions ID I'm using fd , you set this using fdisk, it's intended for
RAID partitions and the HOWTO suggests using it , in addition to
persistent superblock so the partition gets noticed at boot time.

I prefer having a simple boot partition on each drive of the RAID 1. Sure
it's more work to maintain two copies of /boot but I don't update the
kernel that often. This method is so simple and it's so reliable.
