What you do not know is that there will be a drive int the futre that
will have a native SCSI overlay and front end. This will have a SCB->ATA
converter/emulation. This will require setup and booting as a SCSI
device. FUN, heh??

Drop the latest stuff from
ftp://ftp.*.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick/
and see if that helps.

This it the top of my lilo.conf file, so yes.

Do not worry, it will never get to a partition check or mount.

I hope this clears the mud.

Nope, just using single cha
Hz PCI-Bus speed setting
variations.
The later is a real hard puzzle to code.
Every transfer rate as a different 32-bit decode value.
5 PIO settings 0,1,2,3,4
3 DMA settings 0,1,2 (multi-word)
5 UltraDMA settings 0,1,2,3,4
---
13 settings * three busspeeds == 39 settings.
This will be a tuffy...since I first have to add a real function
to determine the try PCI bus speed to begin the process.
