>From hints here and on the 'net I though that boot raid was possible with
the latest
version(s) of the kernel, raidpatches & lilo. However I may have been
mistaken.

I've attempted to created a RAID-1 device 0x901 comprised of two partitions
/dev/sde1 & /dev/sdi1 (will eventually be moved to /dev/sda1 & /dev/sde1
once
it's successful, /dev/sda is currently a normal boot disk).

I have /dev/sde1 & sdi1 both marked as bootable, and with 0xfd as the
partition
type to automatically start.

This so far went well, I copied over my entire distribution to the new
device
and updated the fstab. I stopped the raid and then individually did a
lilo -r
to each side of the mirror. (Lilo v0.20). No problems everything was
looking good.

Then rebooted w/ /dev/sda1 removed. (FYI, all three of these disks are on
their
own controllers, and have scsi id of 0 which is marked as a bootable disk in
the
Mylex's (BT-958's) BIOS) The system didn't even load lilo said it couldn't
find
a system disk. Hmm.

Anyone have any pointers here? Things were going reall good, didn't want
to stop
here.
