Hi Ingo,

I think I just ran into a problem when trying to analyze a problem
encounterd by a user on the raid-mailinglist:

He had configured a 12-disk raid 5 device.

Problem: you can configure it, you can initialize it -so far so good. But
if a disk fails you're in trouble, because raidhotadd can't add the
replacement disk as a spare - no space left in device list :-(

Solution: Probably a check is needed that prevents use of all 12 disks as
active devices - we MUST leave at least one entry free for replacement of
failed disks.
