After solving my problem with initializing raid 5 disk (thanks
people who helped from this list) i started playing around. (BTW the
solution to my previous problem was applying the correct patch ! :) if a
patch does not apply smoothly then find the correct one :-)) )
I setup a raid 5 array (md0) with 3x 6G IDE disk. I played with some in the
filesystem to fill some of it. Later i changed one of disks with a
identical one. Now it seems ok but it is running in the degraded mode. How
i can make it reconstruct on the new disk ? It seems like complaining sb
ofset .
And my other questions is about raid 1: I setup an array of 2
partitions. I copied root partion files into this array (md1) . Doing the
necessary things ( /boot filesystem, lilo ) i boot md1 as root. Now how
can add a new partition to this raid 1 array (my old root disk) ?
