I just did the very same thing
Kernel: 2.2.12
Patch: raid0145-19990824-2.2.11
added Raid0 and Linear support, Raid5 as module
*BUT* i also used an ide patch ide.2.2.12.patch.gz which i can get from the
people's dir
under hedrick from any ftp.xx.kernel.org ftp.
