sorry bout that double posting. this intermitent turnaround time from this
list screws me up.
anyone ever thought of doing a /dev/swap ?
the way i see it, you could add a superblock to swap, and dump the entries
in /etc/fstab.
kernel scans and finds type fd on disk, reads superblock, sets up
no. no. no.
there is no swapping to raid1 or higher, and there is no point in swapping
to a file on a raid 0 or linear partition as they only hurt performance if
anything. this is true for a swap partition, or a swap file on any other
filesystem.
no swap to software raid. if you a really interes
again, you cant swap over raid > 0, and you dont want to swap to linear or
raid0.
no swapping, files, partition, or other wise. i have yet to see anyone
make it work.

as was previously stated, there is no reason to swap to raid0 or linear.
if anything that is a performance hit. the kernel stripes swap writes
already. read the howto for that one.

How about swapping to RAID-1 device, is it possible to do or not ?

Aehm, is there a patch for 2.2.x to be able to swap over NFS?! I need this
really for my diskless machine...
