I noticed this patch was inserted into the 2.6.8 patchset for the linux
kernel. Since I have an iRiver iHP-140, I gave it a good thrashing
overnight, however I've run into what is either a different problem, or
possibly the same problem manifesting itself differently.

In the sense that some adapters are faster than others, and the faster
ones (including NForce EHCI, and probably most EHCI 1.0 silicion)
are exactly what seem to choke the GeneSys hardware.

Problem solved. As I sat here and pondered what the problem was I
remebered when I read the FAQ many moons ago it mentioned something
about max luns. So, I re-read it and found it. Adding
options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=15
to /etc/modules.conf fixed the problem.
