Please forgive the continued bothersome messages.
Mepis 6.5 with 2.6.15-27 does NOT load "usbcore" automatically ... nor
does it even contain "usbcore" in its drivers. Is this a bug? Or a
design change?

I made some "technical errors" in moving the 2.6.11 kernel over on my
first try to the new Mepis partition. One was not moving the system.map
file, and a couple of others.

I tried moving the "good" kernel, 2.6.11, to the new Mepis. I moved it,
the initrd and all its drivers. I must have missed one or more
essential items. It runs to the extent that the new Mepis works and
brings up KDE completely, BUT it won't recognize the Xircom as it does
with Ka

Could I just move the entire kernel 2.6.10 from the old Mepis to the new
Mepis and save all this re compile operation ??
