This particular patch sure seems wrong, given the
descriptor listings you provided. (They show a clear
intent to use the Belcarra pseudo-MDLM protocol, with
Zaurus-compatible framing.)

BTW, the e680 runs 2.4.20 not 2.6, it has some binary only module for
gprs so it seems that we can't easily upgrade the cellphone to 2.6
