Hello, I don't know is this the right forum to this question, so please advise me to right place if this is wrong place.
I have Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xg camera that has webcam support. Camera is connected to PC via USB. Unfortunately there is only windows drivers available to support this feature. The manufacturer has ceased camera production and support, so I guess there never will be a driver for Linux. So I decided to try to make my own driver. I'm a software developer but I'm kind of newbie on Linux programming albeit I have basic knowledge of C language and *nix tools. So this is kind of learning process at the same time. I have browsed kernel/module and usb howtos on the net and I'm currently reading "Linux Device Drivers" book from oreilly. I have made simple examples, but now I eagerly wan't to get something useful. So where I can start to examine how this webcam feature works? Do I have to do some kind ofreverse engineering to resolve the used protocol? What tools are available for that? -Robert- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
