Updated kernel from 2.4.13 to 2.4.18 patched with
linux-2.4.18-rc2-gregkh-1.patch.

The problem of a system hang resulting from "rmmod usb-uhci" that
occurred with 2.4.13 does not occur with this new kernel. The shutdown
scripts in my Mandrake 8.1 system use such a rmmod command, therefore
this hang was a serious nuisance.

Operation of a SanDisk ImageMate SDDR-31 Compact Flash reader is now
fine with usb-uhci.

The alternative, uhci module, which did not hang in 2.4.13, continues to
work as before with the new kernel. This means it reads data from a CF
card at less than 10% of the speed achieved by usb-uhci (60 Kbytes per
second, compared with 730 Kbytes per second).

This performance difference is consistent with the report regarding
usb-storage from Anders Karlsson on the usb-users list (8 Mar 2002
08:40:21 +0000.)
