Hi Subba,
You also need SCSI generic probably and perhaps prompting for
experimental drivers.

Hello
I have been trying to compile the USB modules in the kernel 2.2.18.
This is to access the Imagemate SanDisk Compact Flash reader. The model number
is SDDR31. During the kernel compile, I have enabled SCSI options and USB
options. One of the USB options is "USB Storage". This item is greyed

I tried to use /dev/usblp0 and /dev/usb/lp0 and both gets same messages
erros:

These are the the kind of debug messages I get when trying to read
from the port:
Mar 23 18:39:16 lap-16 kernel: usbserial.c: serial_open
Mar 23 18:39:16 lap-16 kernel: usbserial.c: generic_open - port 0
Mar 23 18:39:16 lap-16 kern
I have a Xircom Portstation with a dual DB9 serial module that I can't
get to work properly with the generic serial usb driver. The Xircom
Portstation is a sort of modular usb hub, in which you can plug in
various modules to get new functionality. I have a four-port usb hub
and a parallel port mod

Hurrah - it works . . . . kinda.
I noticed http://www.nothing-on.tv in Tonys signature - had a look and
started from scratch with the patches he listed on that page (which were
entirely different to the patch that I had) - and after recompiling the
kernel and modules I at last had a pppoatm modul
