Hello,
I'm having a bit of a play with booting an old laptop with a dead hard drive
from CD, and then mounting a root filesystem via NFS. To cap it off, this
laptop has no Ethernet, so I'm using a USB Ethernet adapter (trying with
both an rtl8150 and pegasus based adapter).

Here is what happens when I try to access the device:-
1. Plug device into port and the device appears in /dev as /dev/sda &

No matter what device I try to plug in to this old machine the 2.6 kernels
won't work. The 2.4 works fine. The /proc/interrupt count is increasing
correctly.
