Regarding the USB Philips cameras.
Kernel 2.4.3 and the required patches work [ fine ].
Haven't gotten audio to work yet, but the video is perfect.
Recompiled 2.4.5 with patches for about 3 days, must've made the kernel
over 50 times, never got it to work.

I have a Philips (740k) which is supposodly supported in Linux according
to http://www.linux-usb.org/.
When I open up my xawtv or camE, I get a screen, but it is black, no
active video.
It is the same exact problem this guy is having.
