I must be getting old because I've solved this one before but can't
remember how I did it. (Perhaps I need that notebook). After installing
the Nvidia ebuild on my laptop there is a black strip down the right hand
side of the screen about an inch wide. How do I get rid of this? I know
it's
I encounter the same on my Win2k/Mdk 9.1 box as well. 9.1 feels snappier
and better overall.

I believe it's sane 1.0.7 (not sure how to check this but all the docs
and supporting files refer to 1.0.7; anyway it's whatever came stock
with the official RH 7.3 disks).

I'd suggest Mandrake 9.1 or 9.2 (if you want to wait a month or so for it to be
released)
It's quick and easy to use and install and uses urpmi for rpm which deal with
dependencies well.
