Selecting a window manager

A while ago I set up my Mandrake8.2 to automatically start Icewm. I have now decided to revert to a runlevel 3 startup so I can start a selected wm with 'startx','startx icewm' or 'startx kde'. Now only icewm will start irrespective of the command given. I presume there is a . file controlling
