Sound problems fedora

Hi all, Recently I upgraded from Fedora Core 1 to Fedora Core 2 and since the sound card has been reset to mute on restart. I've google this as found that I should set my default volumes etc and run alsactl store. I did this and and now when I restart if I run alsactl restore my sounds work but n
