I'm about to build up a router/asterisk system based on a 4801. My ap (
currently on a single channel due to improper grounding! ) is based on a 4521,
with soekris 200mW pcmcia cards. I've just ordered a nmp-6802 a/b/g minipci
card to replace the offending slagged one, but I'll have to run it at
Steve,
Is that www.soekris.com ?
I've seen their stuff before on line, looks very good. What are you
getting? What have you played with so far?
Cheers Don

Awesome mate, I'm now sorted. Worked through the ppp setup docs you
refered me to and yep, I think it was the password that was holding up the
show. Have no idea how that got set wrong - I didn't even know the
pap.secrets file existed. I've no idea why I had all these issues compared

I'm about to put an order through to Soekris for some new toys. Anyone else
want to add to it and split the delivery costs???
Cheers,
Steve
I'd say that the password is the first thing to get fixed. Are you absolutely
certain that the contents of /etc/ppp/pap.secrets is correct? The relevant line
has the format
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" * "password"
Quotes are not necessary, but handy.

Cheers Andy,
Awesome link. I'm just working through it now. First question - Under
Resolver Information it talks about a /etc/resolve.conf file. I can't find
this. However, I do have an /etc/ppp/resolv/maxnet file but its empty
apart from the comment # resolv.conf created by pppconfig for maxnet.

Wesley, hence why I'm setting up what I'm doing. Do it our selves, better,
faster and cheaper then share it with our comm

I'm on the occasional Amnesty International email list for emergency
mailbombing some particularly offensive HOS or HOG concerning some poor sod
who's being tortured in some dungeon or other. I consider Amnesty

I'm currently trying to use the ltmodem-2.6-alk-8 driver. Before this I
tried ltmodem-8.31b1
Details below that I've collected. Not sure how the .wvdial.conf file in
my home directory relates to the settings I enter in gnome-ppp or via
pppconfig. Using pppconfig I set up pap authorisation and ente
