Hey all,
I'm after and older pci graphics card as I've got an old PII that I
want to play round with. The onboard graphics chip doesn't play nice
with the various *nix distro's I've tried so far.
So if anyone's got and older graphics card in their box of bits that
they want to either give

Loads of wonderful ideas, but the release of the Heron means that I'm

Actually I think that the fact that broadband is pretty ubiquitous

How do I find out? top has showed the CPU "waiting" for 90-95% of the
time, for the last 10 minutes or so. I brutally killed off trackerd, but
this had no visible effect.
As I type this email, whatever it was has finished, but I'd like to know
whether there's a way of finding out next time.

These's several approaches I can think of, right off the top of my head:
The Community newspaper approach - we talk to someone at the local community
newspapers, about how this group of techies and geeks are working together to
offer these resources to the various parts of the community, if they
I used it.
The new opendisc release is just a few days away.
I am about to order a bunch of ubuntu cd's for the freeculture club,
anyone want to hop on?

I have wondered how much use the archive gets.
Don't we show a "local commitment to Linux" by offering to download/burn CD's
for anyone who asks?

I hope so. I would feel rather sad if all of (especially) your and Wesleys
efforts aren't appreciated. Unfortunately, I'm s
This is a no brainer in my view.
Building the resource shows our local commitment to Linux. If that in
it self is not enough of a reason to keep it alive then just let me know
and I'll give you a dozen more.

Well I've been this last month exposing the vutues of said resource to a
couple of folks and they where very surprised to hear about such a resource.
just my 2 cents worth.
dave.
Goodness only knows what happened there, I havn't a clue.
I'm just wondering whether it's worth keeping the Distro archive going?
It needs updating with new material, but if it's not being used there
is little point, and the best thing to do is to give it a dose of
euthanasia.
Opinions please.
Hi-ho,
Have you considered doing some volunteer work to get some IT experience?
Not necessarily Linux related, but just so you can get some solid
experience in an organisational setting...
If you're still living at home it might be a good way to get some runs
on the board, as it were.
