Maybe it's a case of those people are seeing the issue (I have), but since it has been raised,
figured some action might be taken, instead of adding endless "me too" posts to the discussion..
That'll work too :P

you might be able to get him to install something like centericq, which is a
command-line, multi-protocol IM client... not too difficult to use either..

I expect Matt Gregan would hate me forever if I suggest he do a talk on his

Issue's I personally had encountered in the past with distro versions of
Eclipse are that they sometimes use a native compiled, gcj version of eclipse,
which
isn't 100% compatible with some eclipse plugins (like the JBoss IDE plugin),
whereas a normal version running on Suns JDK works fine.

At my place of work, we probably have at least 50 Linux servers (mix of RHEL,
Debian and Ubuntu) plus a few desktops (Ubuntu and Fedora)
I can also say that I know of several Govt departments that host their websites
on Linux, but I'm probably not allowed to say which ones :P

Add the multiverse repository to your apt sources, then

I had linux running on my old Compaq iPaq a while ago.. and from what I
remember, dual booting would be extremely hard to do, if not impossible.
handhelds.org had a ton of good information about running Linux on
iPaqs, but a casual search doesn't turn up any info on Sony devices, so

Possible workaround then:
echo bla | md5sum > checksum-1.md5
echo bla | md5sum > checksum-2.md5
diff checksum-1.md5 checksum-2.md5
if [ $? -neq 0 ]; then
echo "Checksum mismatch"

Just out of curiosity, have you looked at any of the open source Application

Take a look at http://adodb.sourceforge.net/
The thing about ADODb is that's usage syntax is similar to MSs ADO, but
that's about it.
The basic pattern to use is:
$dsn = 'mysql://user:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/mydb';
$conn = ADONewConnection($dsn)
$statement = $conn->Prepare('insert into table (col1,col
My advice is to always use a DB abstraction layer when talking to SQL databases
from PHP (or any other language for that matter)
I recommend ADOdb, and the use of prepared statements in conjunction with input
filtering to make sure no nasties make their way into your SQL from 'user'
input.
