There have been a few comments about access to ftp.nz.debian.org
(ftp.citylink.co.nz) being difficult for some... I Contacted the ADSL
helpdesk, and spoke to a very nice chap (who shall remain anonymous), that
was going to look into the issue. He enquired with the Telecom NOC, and got
this as a reply (Titled "Citylink/GGI Peering"):

> Xtra and GGI customers trying to access the NZ mirror for the Debian
> distribution of Linux (hosted by CityLink) are no longer able to do so.
> Access to the live CityLink web cams is impacted as well.

> go to CityLink and their downstream customers (including the Debian mirror
> and the CityLink web cams) via international data circuits. CityLink have
> now decided to disable international access so our customers have no way

I figured that the ADSL helpdesk was the best place to ask, since they're
somewhat more knowledgable about what's going on. Anyway, it proved
fruitful.

It's a shame really, work is also a Telecom (GGI) customer :/

Anyway, He who shall remain anonymous made this observation in his reply to
me:

> I believe they will be working on a solution, but the chances of either of
> us being notified when this takes effect are slim.

So, we can but hope, cross our fingers, and hope the big kids with the
routers stop throwing their toys.
